Roy is certified as a Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR) with over 25 years of human resources management experience. His background includes a wide range of hands-on HR practices including recruitment and staffing, training and development, Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action Plan development, development of compensation and incentive programs, performance management systems, employee relations, union avoidance and labor contract negotiation, non-immigrant and immigrant work visa administration. His industry work experience encompasses manufacturing, scientific research (FFRDC), distribution and non-profit environments.
Roy’s career has involved creation of a Human Resources department from the ground up, HR management of multiple locations including Santiago, Chile, S.A., staffing for production as well as top tier engineers and PhD’s in science. He has established Diversity Initiatives and Affirmative Action Plans for a premier radio astronomy institution and a distribution company; and instituted Internship collaborations with colleges and high potential high school programs. Roy has audited multiple Human Resources departments to ensure compliance with all HR federal and state laws and government agency compliance standards. He has led the avoidance of OFFCP EEOC audits beyond the desk audit stage. He holds certificates in Conflict Mediation, OSHA Train-the-Trainer and TQM Trainer.
Roy is a graduate of Old Dominion University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Social Science. He is currently a member of the Society for Human Resources Management, the Shenandoah Valley SHRM chapter, and a member of the HR Chamber of Commerce Vision 2020 committee for the future of the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia.
